Buying Exosomes Online: What Should You Look For?

Buying extracellular-vesicle products online can be surprisingly difficult.
A search can bring up polished websites advertising 50 billion, 100 billion, or even larger particle counts, along with claims about laboratories, manufacturing quality and testing.
But a professional website and an impressive number don't necessarily tell you what you're actually buying.
Before placing an order, here are the things worth checking.
1. Find Out Who Actually Manufactures the Product
The company whose website you're shopping on may not manufacture the product—and that's not necessarily a problem.
Distributors are common.
What matters is whether the relationship is transparent.
Ask:
- Who manufactures the product?
- Is the seller the manufacturer or a distributor?
- Can you identify the actual manufacturing organization?
- Does the documentation match the product being sold?
Be cautious when it's difficult to determine who actually makes the product.

2. Ask Where the Product Comes From
“Exosomes” isn't a source.
Extracellular vesicles can originate from different biological sources, and different sourcing methods create different manufacturing considerations.

- particle quantity and size

A COA doesn't automatically prove that a product is safe, effective, pure, potent, approved or superior.

4. Don't Buy Based on Particle Count Alone
This deserves repeating:
100 billion doesn't automatically beat 50 billion.
Ask how the particles were counted.
Ask what else was characterized.
Ask whether the number is connected to batch-specific documentation.
Particle count by itself doesn't establish that every detected particle is an exosome, nor does it establish purity, potency or clinical effectiveness.
A bigger number may be meaningful—but only in context.

5. Check How the Product Will Be Shipped
Don't wait until checkout to think about shipping.
Ask:
Where is the product stored before your order?
Who packages it?
How is temperature controlled during shipment?
What should you do with it when it arrives?

Scientific terminology can make marketing sound authoritative.
That doesn't make every claim scientifically established.
The FDA currently states that there are no FDA-approved exosome products.
Also remember:
FDA registration is not FDA approval.

7. Make Sure You Can Ask Questions
Before spending hundreds or thousands of dollars, try asking the seller a few specific questions.
For example:
Can I see the COA?
Who manufactures this?
What's the biological source?
How was the particle count measured?
How will it be shipped?
The quality of the answers can tell you a lot.
A seller may not disclose proprietary manufacturing information, and that's reasonable.
But basic questions about what the product is, who makes it and what documentation supports it shouldn't be impossible to answer.
